Q&A

Frequently asked questions

Are there any contraindications to the EkkyLite™ treatment?
Some criteria might have an impact on the treatment, leading your practitioner to decide against the possibility of using EkkyLite™.

Is it possible to treat all scars?
The treatment is designed for patients whose surgery (excluding the face) has been scheduled. Old scars can thus be treated if they are surgically revised.

How many sessions are required? And when?
The EkkyLite™ treatment is applied in a single session at the end of the surgical operation.

Is the treatment painful?
There is no pain thanks to the local or general anesthesia used during your intervention.

How long will it take for my scar to reach its final appearance?
Scar healing is a long and progressive process. However, a scar has generally reached its final aspect after 12 to 18 months.

Can I develop an allergy to the treatment?
The EkkyLite™ treatment acts on the skin’s natural repair and regeneration mechanisms. No allergic reactions have been reported so far.

What results can I expect?
83% of patients treated with EkkyLite™ have noticed a significant improvement on the treated area relative to the non-treated one.

Are there any additional treatments required following EkkyLite™?
Scar massage remains recommended, as well as the use of sunscreen during the first few months. In some cases, your practitioner could advise you to cover your scar with special cream and patches.
