Mission

Making the laser technology available to all

Up to now, available treatments were not able to significantly reduce mature scars and its complications.

Indeed, the final appearance of a scar cannot always be predicted, as the only parameters over which a surgeon has control are still the method of wound closure used and his own surgical skills.

Current laser treatments nevertheless help reduce the impact of scarring but they take time and their success depends greatly on the user’s experience.

The scar-healing process can also be improved by injecting pro-scarring drugs, which target the scarring process itself. But these drugs are still under development, and also require repeated treatments.

With both of these approaches, the earlier the operation takes place, the better the outcome will be.

EkkyLite™ is used, in only one session, right after the critical moment of wound closure, i.e. at the very beginning of the scar-healing process.

From this stage, the surgeon will be able, using EkkyLite™, to precisely heat up the patients’ skin tissue to modulate the biological response involved: this speeds up and modulates the healing process and reduces visible traces of his action.

Through this approach, Ekkyo today makes laser technology available to surgeons and, tomorrow, to all specialists facing scar-related issues. Therefore, Ekkyo helps improving the occupational comfort of the surgeon and the quality of life of 70 million patients dealing with scar issues.
